The tornado siren located at the industrial park in Rolling Fork is not working for the next 2-3 weeks waiting on a parts repair.
Our plan in the absence of the siren, should there be a tornado "warning" is:
City police and County patrol cars will drive through the City of Rolling Fork with sirens on to warn citizens to take necessary cover if we are in the path of a tornado.
High water in neighborhoods in Sharkey County. Please be careful - it is raining now. If you need assistance, please call your district supervisor or Emergency Management Director James Ross at 662-907-1479. Please do not try to drive through water over the roads.
Sharkey County has sand and bags ready to be filled. The truck will be at Rolling Fork Baptist Church in the back parking lot. If you need bags, you can contact Supervisor Bill Newsom at 662-907-1498. The truck can be brought to you if you are in need of numerous bags, otherwise call and someone will meet you there to assist you.
The Circuit Clerk's office will be open on Saturday, March 5th from 8 a.m. until noon for absentee voting.
The Democratic County Convention is scheduled for Saturday, March 12, 2016, at the courthouse from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
